The Factory Outlet Buyer is directly responsible for the selection, and procurement of all merchandise related to the department for directly operated Outlets in USA & CAN.  This involves assorting market appropriate product categories at the right price, quality, and design in order to meet consumer demand.  This role has a responsibility to support company objectives, as well as identify and apply solutions to problems that will reduce inventory liability, improve gross margin and maximize business opportunities. The Factory Outlet Buyer is directly responsible for the selection, and procurement of all merchandise related to the department for directly operated Outlets in USA & CAN.  This involves assorting market appropriate product categories at the right price, quality, and design in order to meet consumer demand.  This role has a responsibility to support company objectives, as well as identify and apply solutions to problems that will reduce inventory liability, improve gross margin and maximize business opportunities. 

 

What you can expect:

  • Develop buying and merchandising strategies for the Men’s Outlet business that tie back to financial goals for the division and company.
  • Select and customize assortments by store tier and location based on budget, product offering, customer demand, and merchandise trends.
  • Regularly reviews key performance indicators such as sell thru%, sales | stock ratio and conversion; reacting quickly to changes in demand and trending merchandise categories.
  • Studies current market trends relative to customer demands and predicts future trends in competitive market.
  • Partners with the Allocation Team to ensure product demands are met for the Top 10 stores, as well as the entire fleet consistently.
  • Recommends timely markdowns/promotions on goods as well as updating/entering said markdowns in the system. 
  • Partners directly with merchandise planning to develop and execute seasonal plans, merchandising and promotional strategies for all responsible classifications.  
  • Reviews Open-to-Buy (OTB) with Planning and identifies risk + sales opportunities that meet financial goals and objectives.
  • Prepares collection product knowledge presentations that are regionally relevant for retail sales associates.   
  • Partners with Regional | Store Managers and attends VM model store to provide guidance that ensures presentation guidelines which help product supply meet customer demand.
  • Foster and leverage cross-functional relationships to create opportunities for business – specifically collaborating with Allocation & Planning, Global Replenishment, Wholesale, Regional Managers, IT, Visual Merchandisers and Senior Management.

 

           System Technology

  • Utilize and comprehend SAP | BIS merchandising tools in order to manage Outlet reporting processes.

Your profile:

  • BS College Degree
  • Minimum 4+ years of Buying experience (Menswear Experience Required)
  • Adapts to shifting circumstances in business environment  
  • Strong Conceptual and Strategic Thinking
  • Independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Strong Systems & Process Abilities
  • Computer literate – Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
