Payroll Specialist

What you can expect:

Member of the Payroll team that will participate in daily data entry, ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s US and Canada payrolls, and provide timely responses to employee inquiries.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Enter, process and maintain records of employees (new hires and terminations) across multi-jurisdictions
  • Enter and audit all employee earnings, including retro salary changes, adjustments, in addition to hours worked, exception time, vacation and commission, and bonus payments for US and Canada payrolls.
  • Set up employee deductions and direct deposit
  • Execute time and attendance processing from Kronos, ADP eTime
  • Execute commission from Callidus Tool
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Audit all employee new hire, termination, garnishment and benefit adjustments
  • Understand proper taxation of healthcare benefits
  • Process garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Process manual/out-of-cycle checks as required
  • Update and reconcile monthly bank statements from ADP
  • Load import files received from HR and HRIS
  • Respond to management team and employee inquiries regarding payroll.
  • Run audit reports and post-payroll reports, including General Ledger files
  • Ensures accurate and timely accounting, record keeping and management of payroll related data: performs audits and reconciliations of payroll information
  • Review Tax inquiries with ADP Tax
  • Work with Finance on month end closing
  • Assist with YE Processing
  • Build working relationship with all payroll partners

 

Additional Responsibilities:

 

  • Assumes additional duties as required
  • Work on various Team Projects

Your profile:

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum Education: BS or BA Degree in business administration such as management, finance or accounting
  • 1 – 2 years of experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Canadian payroll experience a plus
  • Proficiency with ADP software
  • Knowledge of SAP HR a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organized
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
